Vasil Giurov

Bulgarian artist (base-guitar player, vocalist, song-text writer, director) born in 1965 in Sofia.

1985 – co-founder of rock group “Calais” which went on stage for the first time at the First Sofia Rock Festival in 1987 but after their third song the group was banned by the socialist government.
1988 – founded the rock-group “Review”.
1989 – “Milena + Review” album was released and two of the songs in it become hits in Bulgaria. The group tours around Eastern Europe.
1990 – after a tour to China the group breaks up and Vassil Gyurov moves to Germany.
1992 – Gyurov comes back to Bulgaria and participates in several concerts with the group “New Generation” which breaks up after the death of one of its founders. Gyurov and Ivan Latinov found rock group Africa.
1994 – Gyurov is part of the rock group “Truck” winning the Passport “Song of the Year” award.
2001 – rock-group “Review” is revived and its song “Breakfast” wins the MM TV “Song of the Year” award. The album “10” is released.
2012 – Gyurov is one of the five directors of the independent experimental movie “Free Till Death”
